Fear of domestic cat is known as ailurophobia. It is a specific phobia as the centre of fear is only the cat and not any other objects. More commonly seen in women than in men ailurophobia is a treatable disorder. Psychotherapy and use of cosmic gems can remove this fear before long.
One can understand when someone fears a dog as it is indeed terrifying to hear the barking of a dog let alone the pain of bite. Muscle twitching and body trembling along with nausea could make them not wanting to eat or drink. A symptom that is undeclared by many is dryness of skin and in and around sex organs. Fear of losing control is the major psycho effect. Foreboding of physical harm by a cat or something evil could happen are two examples of imagined fear. Many women who has this phobia tend to have fear of sex and perhaps femininity in general.
There are multiple causes. Negative imprint of an event involving tabby during childhood is a key reason. Similarly, negative knowledge about cats possessing supernatural ability to bring harm corresponds well with fear of black cat. Family history where mother passing the fear to child is also observed. To my mind, the underlying reason for fear of cats is due to unsatisfied sexual experience or barring of sex relationship due to health or cultural factors. Need I say anything more why women sufferers hate male cats?
Treatment must begin with psychotherapy followed by the judicious use of cosmic gems. At the base, opal remains the best choice.
