Laila Rouass, Feet Made for Dancing

British actress Laila Rouass has a colourful and varied career. Starting her celebrity life as a VJ she has flaunted her talent in modelling and acting as well. Her memorable performance as “Amber Gates” in British TV drama “Footballers’ Wives” made her a star to be reckoned with. But her real form was found recently in the BBC One Reality Programme, Strictly Come Dancing, where she was featured as a dancer. What struck me were her feet that are made for dancing. In this blog post I examine the Cosmics of her feet to find out what do these feet tell about the dancing ability of this celebrity?

Laila Rouass was born on June 22, 1971 in London, with a mix of genetics from Morocco and Goa. She later modelled for prestigious names such as French Couture, House, and Chanel. Later she moved on to acting in films debuting in the Hollywood movie “Fear of Feathers”. But it was the British TV that made her a star. Soap opera “Family Affairs”, science fiction “Primeval” are feathers in her cap. Her performance as “Amber Gates “in the TV drama “Footballers’ Wives” made her indelible mark on the British media and entertainment industry. Surprisingly the BBC One reality show Strictly Come Dancing Series 7, concluded in December 2009 brought to light a hidden talent of Laila Rouass: Perfect Dancer. Though she was knocked off in the quarter finals, Laila Rouass was one of the two finds spotlighted in this competition the other being Ali ( Alexandra ) Bastian, herself a British actress. Vital statistics of Laila Rouass of 36-25-36 along with the moderate height at 5 feet 6 inches, earned for her a mooring in the FHM Magazine’s “100 Sexiest Women in the World” consecutively in years 2004 and 2005. To cap it all, the British Magazine Eastern Eye gave her a slot at Fifth Position in ranking of Asia’s Sexiest Women consecutively in years 2006 and 2007. Celebrity news portal, Askmen.com gave her coveted 87 marks for her strong physique propped up by her shapely legs and brimming feet.

Feet for Dancing

For every dancer feet serve as important body parts; feet act as conduit firstly in combining physical strength with skills of dancing and thereafter translating the resultant combination into a well executed dancing routine. Although hips, thighs, knees are important it is the part of leg below the knee that matters a lot in steps in any form of dancing. The stress of dancing is placed on ankles, heels, feet uppers and toes. That is why it is not un-usual for dancers to get twisted ankle, crooked toes and sprained heels or feet uppers. The strain and pounding these body parts had to undergo is immense. More often than not, dancers experience calluses, corns, bunions, rubbed skins and broken toes. To buttress the strain and pounding and to make their ankles, heels, feet uppers & toes flexible and manoeuvrable dancers need strong and supple shanks above and equally strong and fleshy feet below.

The Picture One shows right foot forward for Laila Rouass. You can notice the straight shank of the right foot, thick, supple and reinforced with strong calf muscle that gives physical strength and cosmic energy. You will not fail to see the centre bone on the ankle jutting out resulting in almost equal division of the muscles on both sides of the foot upper. This kind of physique works well for a dancer who relies on foot work. From sub-conscious mind Laila Rouass is very concerned of the aspect of foot work. In fact in the Strictly Come Dancing competition she has appreciated the fellow dancer Ali Bastion’s “legwork”. Her strong physique together with the formation of ankles and feet upper provide her with a high degree of co-ordination in the steps of dancing.

The sitting posture of Laila Rouass in Picture Two displays all the features she has to become a great dancer. The number one feature is her toes that are perfectly aligned, fleshy and glow in cosmic energy; these can handle any dance routine including pirouetting. The second feature is fullness of the ankles, heels, feet upper and the toes working in harmony in executing each step in a dance programme. If you look up towards the knee or when you look down towards her feet you will not miss grace and beauty being part of her well endowed feet. Such feet made for dancing give her the ability to turn her ankle and shift the burden from one part to another easily and comfortably.

Bent knee of Laila Rouass in another sitting posture depicted in Picture Three completes our analysis. This time it is her left leg in luscious glow orchestrating her shank, heel and foot upper that was captured by this photo shot. Laila Rouass can do any dancing steps effortlessly because she has fleshy and rounded heel sitting pretty well with the shank to the left and foot upper below in the above picture. This formation gives her high degree of composure as a dancer as she can bend and turn her feet in equal felicity. Moreover, her feet give grace as a swan and are light as a flamingo. What an amazing combination for Laila Rouass, whose feet are made for dancing.
