Difference between Motto and Mantra

You often come across someone saying, “This is my motto and mantra”.  Is the statement correct? Not at all. While motto is, something you tell others in public, mantra is something you tell yourself privately. Read for a brief explanation of my point of view.
Motto is a brief phrase or sentence expressing idea, belief and rule guiding you in conducting your affairs with others. It is often considered as a component of your personal branding. This is because you invest lot of time and effort to design an eloquent and power packed motto in order to boost your image and personality. You say the motto in public to anyone and everyone. What you are conveying them are anchored upon four salience. First, one is that you have an idea; second aspect is that you strongly believe in that idea and the third point is that in between you and others this idea is enforced as a rule of conduct. Finally, by saying a motto you expect others to comply with your idea.
Mantra, on the other hand is a word, phrase or a brief sentence that you say to yourself privately. Rarely mantra is divulged to others. Broadly, there are two types of mantra: personal mantra and spiritual mantra. A personal mantra is a word, phrase or a brief sentence that you say to yourself to get inspiration and motivation in you. Spiritual mantra is a chant, inspirational verse, invocation or recital of a group of words that has hidden cosmic power to bring you success and fortune.
By doing a cosmic analysis, you can design motto and mantra for you to move forward in life, career and business.

Difference between Personal Mantra and Spiritual Mantra

There is wide spread confusion that personal mantra and spiritual mantra are the same. This is incorrect. Personal mantra is focussed on mind while spiritual mantra as the name suggests is targeted on spirit. Read for more:
Personal mantra is a mundane affair. In most cases, personal mantra is said in your own language. Constructed in simple language a personal mantra, is a word, phrase or a brief sentence that you say to yourself with an intention of bringing inspiration and motivation in you. You connect your body with your mind. This connectivity is done in a dual track approach. In the first track, you create self – awareness. You tend to see you, perceive you, and feel you as a unique person endowed with specific features. Thereafter, you upgrade your connectivity to deep levels of mind and in turn receive inspiration, encouragement, motivation and an urge to fulfil the tasks you have at hand and achieve the goals you have set. Personal mantra functions as part of personal branding as well as personality development. More often than not, personal mantra is credited with transforming weak person into a strong personality.
On the other hand, spiritual mantra raises you from mundane to higher level of consciousness. Spiritual mantra is an appropriate chant, hymn, incantation, inspirational verse, invocation, recital or utterance of a group of words that has hidden cosmic power to connect you with higher level of conscious awareness. For example, chanting spiritual mantra can reveal your inner strengths that lay unknown to you all these times. In other words, spiritual mantra is three-dimensional in that, it connects your body with mind and thence to your spirit. Although spiritual mantra can be said in spoken languages, prudence dictates that it is better be chanted in classical languages such Hebrew/Arabic, Sanskrit/Pali or Latin for greater effectiveness.
Before proceeding to frame your personal mantra or spiritual mantra, it would be better for you to do a cosmic analysis so that you understand your personal cosmics that shape and influence you throughout your life.

Get Your Hand Sign Today

A hand sign is a posture or gesture involving fingers, palm, wrist, elbow and shoulder that channelize energy into your system by generating, harnessing and managing flow of cosmic vibration internally and externally. Here is a brief on hand sign along with where to find one that suits you.

Originally, Lord Buddha introduced the concept of hand sign to internalize energy and to project energy outward as well. These signs came to be known as Mudra during the time of Lord Buddha and thereafter. Lord Buddha showed very few mudras. After him, Rishis and Yogis went on to develop quite a number of mudras. These mudras are limited in their scope as these were used mainly in spiritual pursuits and in devotional or expressive dances by artistes.

Today, there is a big demand for hand signs that cater to individual and personal needs of people in many areas such as health, wellness, personality development, achieving purpose in life, career and business. Hand sign, as already mentioned has twin role of managing internal energy flow and external energy projection. Hand sign is used for multi functions such as uplifting, controlling, healing, calming, protecting, deflecting, harmonizing, grounding, enhancing, balancing, attracting, transforming, neutralizing, and stabilizing and so on.

I publish regularly samples of hand signs in social networking sites under my pen name cosmicgems. Check any of the following sites and you will find a slew of hand signs demoed by celebrities. You can select the one you need. Here are my sites:

Introducing Mani, Mantra and Mudra

Let me introduce to you the concept of Mani, Mantra and Mudra as 3M cosmic solution for your issues and problems. These Sanskrit words denote gemstone, chant and hand sign respectively Gemstone alone is not enough to harness your personal cosmics. Both mantra and mudra are added for managing and solving your issues as well as problems. Here is a review:

If you go to a physician with a complaint, he prescribes specific drugs for the malady plus supporting and supplementary medicine to enhance the functioning of the drugs and your system to absorb the benefits of the drugs. Similarly, when we recommend gemstone we need to combine mantra and mudra to get the best out of it.

In most cases, cosmic gems are set in jewellery and worn in proximity to human body. However, it does not, preclude that you cannot use gemstones in any other manner. You can squeeze cosmic gems for moments and keep them away. Few others can be placed in your corner stand or displayed on your writing table. Whichever way you use gemstones, you get light frequency that is translated into physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits.

Mantra, on the other hand is effective only if you chant them. Displaying mantra by any other form is of no use. There are two levels of mantra: personal and spiritual. A personal mantra is defined as a word, phrase or a sentence that you say to yourself with an intention of bringing inspiration and motivation in you. It is two-dimensional and connects your body with the mind. Spiritual Mantra is a chant, hymn, incantation, inspirational verse, invocation, recital or utterance of a group of words that has hidden cosmic power to connect your body, mind and spirit. Therefore, spiritual mantra is slated as three-dimensional one. Mantra takes you to higher state of consciousness and in that process energizes the cosmic gems, you are wearing.

Mudra is a hand sign or posture of palm and fingers that channelizes energy into your system by generating, harnessing and managing flow of vibration internally as well as outwardly. By managing cosmic energy, you can increase or decrease the required internal energy level at your own free will. Equally important is assimilating vibes and projecting these towards outward. These twin benefits make you a strong person inside as well as outside. Besides, mudra enlivens the mantra and internalizes the energy of your cosmic gems into your system.

When you undertake a cosmic analysis, you can easily find your strengths and weaknesses. Thereafter, you can choose the right gemstone, which is Mani in Sanskrit and appropriate mantra and mudra to enhance your personal cosmics.

Sunset Meditation Made Easy

Great men throughout ages practise meditating during sunset. If you do this meditation, you can improve your personal cosmics. Here are tips to make sunset meditation easy.

1. As sunset time approaches get ready, wash your face and feet and then drink little water. Do some breathing exercise just before you start your meditation. For sunset meditation air is key element.

2. Generally, the sunset meditation starts in fixed time duration wherein sunset takes place. For example, if sunset time is at 6.30 p.m., then select time slot of 6.00 to 7.00 p.m. In countries in the equatorial region sunset takes place somewhere around this time. As a convention, Buddhist priests chant their mantras during this time span. You can select a slot of 30 or 60 minutes for this purpose.

3. Although there is no specific place recommended convention dictates that you either sit inside house or outside in a garden.

4. There is no special posture or position required. You can sit, stand or walk about during meditation.

5. Relaxation is the key for meditation. You must relax your body, head to foot and your mind. A misconception is that, if you are walking, you cannot relax. Heartbeat and mind beat are not one and the same.

6. It is better to face your cosmic direction, failing which West or North.

7. Focus and concentration is only a by- product of your meditation. If you do meditate for a considerable period, you tend to develop focus and concentration. There is no need to split your hairs to focus on an object or condition your mind. Let it come spontaneously.

8. Always, attach yourself to this world. Do not try to become an ascetic. There is no need for you to deny yourself worldly pleasure. Meditation, of course builds up self-discipline that might contribute to self-denial of pleasure and self-control over internal and external pressure.

9. Incantation of mantra, chant, hymn and a group of words is an excellent idea. If you wish, you can chant a chosen mantra 108 times or multiples of number 9 in any combination.

10. Finally, as you conclude your meditation, once again do some breathing exercises and thereafter drink little water and have few snacks if you feel so.

Are you an Outward Looking Person?

In profiling personality, we often come across inward looking or outward looking persons. Here are the major traits of outward looking persons. Generally dubbed as extrovert, they exhibit the following personality characteristics:

1. Doing well in organizing external affairs, they keep their schedule in tact in meeting people and carrying out their tasks. They are always ready to take a plunge and often do their homework well before any undertaking

2. Sensibility is the driving force where they are guided more by data and careful assessment of people around them than by impulse

3. Something always catches their attention from the external ambience. A workable business idea or a bankable proposal is sure to please them. They tend to be always on the move and have seamless ability to switch on from one task to other in multi task scenario. Although they look for appreciation from others for their achievements, it does not bother them if they do not get it. Displaying a high degree of self- worth, they are concerned more with external organs like head, face, chest and an empowering swagger

4. External stimuli pervades in their psyche. Be it in sex or pleasure they derive happiness and satisfaction by going straight into the act provided they get the opportunity. They are concerned more with getting things done through others and are conscious of facts and figures, situational changes and unexpected events

5. Their body work incessantly necessitating rest and recreation. Nonetheless, they are too absorbed in work to notice it

6. Reliance on physical strength induces them to project the image of go-getter, capable person and man of the town. They have ability to fight out and move gradually towards achieving goals and targets

7. Outward looking is dovetailed with search for equation in everything they do. They will put the effort if they perceive there is corresponding gain. Agility and movement combined with the desire to get results come with a big negative. If someone brushes them on the wrong side, they tend to explode or wait for the opportunity to give him or her the works.

If your personality profile shows too much of outward looking traits then you must do a cosmic analysis to assess your personality cosmics and take required steps to change your style and characteristics. The goal is to have a balanced approach between inward and outward looking styles.

Do it now.

Are you an Inward Looking Person?

In profiling personality, we often come across inward looking or outward looking persons. Here are the major traits of inward looking persons. Generally dubbed as introvert, these persons exhibit the following personality characteristics:

1. Good at organizing internal affairs, they keep everything tidy within them, working desk, bed room and even their wardrobe

2. Sensitivity is the driving force where others prod them on more by emotions, feeling and appreciations

3. Something always is going inside them, idea, inspiration, and desire to do something bigger and better or indulge in self-congratulation. Displaying a high degree of self- consciousness, they are concerned more with internal organs such as kidney, heart rather than their big tummy

4. Internal stimuli pervades in their psyche. Be it in sex or pleasure they go through the motions using and viewing objects, images, pictures that are stored in their collective memory and drive a sense of happiness and satisfaction

5. As their mind works incessantly, they appear to get lost in thoughts walking stooped. More than that, they tend to worry too much for no good reasons

6. Reliance on mental strength is their main forte, and often use high degree of pretension. For example, they tend to show that they are calm and collected although their minds are stormy, to say the least

7. Inward looking entails orientation towards equilibrium. They wish to have status quo and sometimes show resistance to change. In rare cases, they could break down or implode within resulting in mental agony.

If your personality profile shows too much of inward looking traits then you must do a cosmic analysis to assess your personality cosmics and take required steps to change your style and characteristics. The goal is to have a balanced approach between inward and outward looking styles.

Do it now.

What is your Personal Motto?

A personal motto is a brief phrase or sentence expressing belief, idea or rule guiding an individual. An eloquent and power packed motto can boost your image and success. What is your personal motto? Have you ever thought of one in the first place? If not, hurry up and construct one today. Because motto is part of your personal branding. Here are salient points for you to make your personal motto:

Before making your motto just consider some of the mottos in business, army, arts and literature.

Nokia: connecting people

Apple: think different

SAS Regiment UK: who dares wins

Mossed: by way of deception

Thomas Carlyle: the king is the man who can

Literature: amor omnia vincit (love conquers all)

See the power, purpose and expressiveness of these slogans. You can do this by yourself by learning the art of making a motto. You need to two things for that. One you must understand your purpose and the other the configurations you require to make an effective motto.

Purpose is far important in creating a motto. Firstly, you must assess what you stands for in life, business and career. What are your ideals and ideas? What you strongly believe in as a concept driving you. For example, you may feel integrity is your ideal while you believe in hard work. Once you are through getting belief and ideal together you must go to the second step of setting a rule for you. Thereafter you must convey others that they must follow the rule you are propagating. As an illustration, you wish to move quickly in every matter and wants others to follow suit.

Now check your motto: “Get cracking with honesty and hard work” As you note this motto is the sum of all three purposes in a nutshell. Before finalizing, you have to test the motto to see whether it conforms to six cardinal criteria:

It must be memorable

It draws attention

It is concise and brief

It is simple and not wordy

It reflects your image and identity

It must rhyme harmoniously

The result: The motto developed “Get cracking with honesty and hard work” fulfils all six criteria and positively tested.

Just a piece of advice: Before jumping the bandwagon to develop a motto perform a cosmic analysis of yourself and understand your personal cosmics of your liking, ideals beliefs, values, attitude, performance and the result expected. Once you have this data with you, get cracking and make your valuable motto today.

What is your Personal Mantra?

Successful men and women often use an affirmative statement, which they say to themselves privately. As times pass on, they observe there is tremendous rise in their self-motivation. So evolved the concept known as personal mantra, which is part and parcel of day-to-day life of leading men and women. This blog post proposes to highlight key ideas on what is your personal mantra.

Personal mantra is defined as a word, phrase or a sentence that you say to yourself with an intention of bringing inspiration and motivation in you. There are few aliases for personal mantra. Affirmatory word, inspirational phrase and personal dictum are some of these. In most cases this personal mantra is kept closed to one’s heart, to avoid others peeping on the reasons for one’s success. There is wide spread confusion between personal mantra with a personal motto. While a motto is kind of personal slogan said in public, personal mantra is exclusively a private affair.

Anchored primarily on materialistic benefit, personal mantra links your body with your mind. Inner workings of the mind is the key plank in the structure of personal mantra along with outer workings on your body energy. Pluses of personal mantra in your physical side include, heightening body activity, infusing strength into your body, functioning as tonic when you are stressed and tired and keeping your overall physique in topping condition. On the mental area, it uplifts moods, keeps your mind alert and active, builds the bulwark to face life challenges and smoothens your mind when necessary.

A two-track functionality accompanies a personal mantra. One track allows you to increase perception of yourself. Where are you, what you can do, how you can do and what result you can expect are aspects you perceive when using a personal mantra. It is followed by the second track where you get inspiration, motivation and encouragement in a single dose to carry out the task you have in hand.

Although you can pick and choose a proverb, maxim, adage or historical statement in classical languages such as Latin, Hebrew, Arabic or Sanskrit to be your personal mantra, the best course of action is to group few words of your own language to make up your own mantra. You can also do an assessment of your personal cosmics, that is, body and mental features arising from your background, environment and personality characteristics that are unique to yourself. This cosmic analysis will indicate your strengths and weaknesses. Thereafter, you frame your personal mantra that maximizes your strength and minimizes your weaknesses.

Assume you are often reprimanded for doing shoddy job and you find that your cosmics indicate that you lack the art of perfection, and then you can pounce on this simple personal mantra:

“What I do, I’ll do best”

Develop your own Mudra

Mudra is a hand sign or posture of fingers. Mudras were developed in the ancient world in many civilizations. Quite a number of these ancient mudras are still in use. In the present times, however, new mudras are being designed to address current issues and problems. By analysing your personal cosmics, you can develop your own mudra that works for you. Key aspects are listed below:

1. Mudra as a hand sign involves a posture of fingers. One way to create mudra is to place one finger over one or more fingers. Another way is to press one or more fingers on the mounts located in the palm. Third way is to combine both methods.

2. Mudra is effective in channelizing energy into your system, because each finger and each mount in the palm has pressure points that store cosmic energy, which can be ignited and distributed throughout your body. Therefore, mudras can be effectively used to generate, harness, and manage energy flow. The latter is very important because you can increase or decrease the required energy at your own free will. Not only mudras help assimilating energy inside but also in projecting energy outward. These twin benefits make you a strong person inside as well as outside.

3. Mudra can be either a static one or a dynamic one. In a dynamic mudra there is movement involving fingers, wrist, elbow or shoulder.

4. Each finger relates to one of the elements as given below:

Thumb - Fire

Index - Spirit

Middle - Air

Ring - Water

Small - Earth

5. Similarly, each planet relates to one of the five elements:

Sun - Fire

Moon - Water

Mars - Fire

Mercury - Earth

Jupiter - Spirit

Venus - Water

Saturn - Air

6. The following Mounts are located in the palm:

Sun - At the base of the ring finger

Moon - On the left side of your palm, below the Mount of Regressive Mars, extending up to your wrist

Mars - a) Progressive mars is located below the mount of Jupiter, in between index and thumb fingers and just above the Mount of Venus

b) Regressive Mars is located below the mount of Mercury, in between Mounts of Mercury and the Moon

Mercury - At the base of the small finger

Jupiter - At the base of the Index finger

Venus - On the right side of your palm, below the phalanx of thumb, extending up to your wrist

Saturn - At the base of the middle finger

Before developing your own mudra, you must perform a thorough cosmic analysis in order to identify your personal cosmics. Thereafter, you can design your own Mudra that can work for you.

Go ahead!

How to Build Powerful Signature?

A powerful signature is a key element in your personal branding. After completing thorough analysis of your personal cosmics, you must draft a signature with appropriate flow, flourish, dash, line, dots, alphabet, stroke, loop, space, underlining, script and other features to enhance your fortune, power and personality. Few tips follow:

1. You can opt for single stroke to multi strokes signature. A stroke is continuous writing without lifting your fingers. Underlining, slicing and other aspects used in signature are not considered as strokes.

2. Use straight line or slant line signatures as you prefer. Slanting can move upward or downward.

3. You can also underline signature either using partial or full underlining, single or double underlining. In some cases, split underlining is used where the signature contains more than one name.

4. Many strong willed men resort to decorate with dots. One or two and in rare cases three dots are placed, mainly at the bottom of signature.

5. Scripts are also used. If placed above the signature it is known as superscript; one that comes below the signature is called as subscript.

6. You can also cross out part of the signature backward or forward as an added feature.

7. The choice of using upper case or lower case alphabet is available. A combination of both capital and simple letters give colour and texture to your signature.

8. Continuity of flow in a signature is not compulsory. You can leave space or break words into one or two as your wish.

9. A flourish is normally made where the last alphabet is extended downward, upward or in horizontal manner.

10. You can also introduce a loop. In most cases, this loop is bracketed backward. Forward loop is also resorted to, for sophistication.

11. Finally, style features such as dash, line and symbols are incorporated to embellish an otherwise normal signature.

Before changing your signature, it is advisable to do two types of analysis. One is purpose analysis where you sit down and write your purpose in changing your signature. Secondly, you should perform a cosmic analysis of yourself to find out what are your pluses and minuses and how you wish to enhance advantages and minimize disadvantages. Only, thereafter you must draft a signature to leverage your personal cosmics. Remember that your signature is your identity and must last until end.

Self-discipline is Key to Success

In my years of experience as a cosmic adviser, I found that the character strait most clients should have but in fact are lacking is self-discipline. Whether they are suffering from internal issues or external events one thing common in them was the inability to control themselves. The world of cosmics ignore those who lack self-discipline. Here are highlights of self-discipline as key to your success.

1. You have plenty of dreams, ideas and plans. None of these would materialise if you are not disciplined enough to go after them. Thinking about your ideas or talking about them with others does not take you anywhere. You have to be determined to put your ideas into action. For that, surely you need resources physical and mental. The key resource is your self-discipline, which guides you in reaching your goals systematically.

2. The precursor for happiness in life is self-discipline. Let us imagine you are in a drinking party. You can hooch to your maximum and be carried away safely by faithful friends or pretend to be a teetotaller or resort to deny yourself maximum pleasure and leave at the half way mark. As a practical person, you would choose self-denial rather than going into extremes.

3. A by-product of self-discipline is self-esteem. In my experience, people who have high degree of self-discipline also exhibit high degree of self-esteem. They tend to think themselves as men of worth and project quality of superiority, indispensability and dignity.

4. Self-discipline gives you lot of happiness. You need not go behind happiness because when you have self-discipline happiness comes to you on its own. You feel happy with whatever you have and achieved so far. This works as an incentive in getting more opportunities for you and chances of achieving further success.

5. You can blend work with relaxation, internal strength with external events, thoughts with action, talk with walk and promise with delivery.

6. Self-discipline tends to glide you continuously in your family and business life. Because it is a continuous process, self-discipline acts like physical exercise. The more you exercise the more fitter you become. Similarly the more you discipline yourself, you control yourself, lead others by example and taste sweet success.

7. Finally, self-discipline makes anything and everything possible. Today science and technology had advanced to this extend mainly due to the disciplined approach followed by the researchers and developers.

If you feel that you are not self-disciplined or do not have the required level of it, you can arrange a cosmic analysis of you and find out what remedial measures you must take to make you a self-disciplined person or in other words a successful person.

2. Mother: This number refers to your bond with your mother. It can take 1 to 9 in the series of numbers. Depending on this number your mental frame, emotions, feelings, sensibility and sensuality are determined.

How to make your name powerful?

Your name is the one that identifies and represents you. More than that, it also emits signals to the outside world. Whether these signals are powerful or weak, depend on the cosmics surrounding your name. Here are ways to improve power of your name:

1. Let it rhyme: If your name does not alliterate to attract attention, then add little rhyming. Look at Cincinnati a city in Ohio; it gives a melodious effect and you are emotionally attached to its sound and thereafter for its topography.

2. Make it simple, but sweet: Shakespeare sang in his immortal play Romeo & Juliet “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet”. Now compare rose with Cinderella. You can find Cinderella combines beauty and sweetness to project a desirable person.

3. Bring vibrancy: Liveliness is game of any name. You know Leonardo Di Caprio an American actor who starred in the 1996 film Romeo & Juliet. He is not only a romantic star in celluloid world but in real life too. His courting with celebrities has been widely reported in media, thanks to his vibrant name.

4. Add value: A key aspect in bringing power to your name is the use of common name packed with dynamo power. The Bush family of United States already had two presidents. Jeff Bush is trying to enter the fray in 2016, which would surely add more power to the clan name of Bush family.

5. Keep it short, but not stupid: Brevity is always preferable but do not make it ridiculous. Mr. Alan Short is acceptable name, but if you say Mr. Jonathon Fall then it raises the eyebrow.

6. Touch with class and nobility: Some names never fade away. Look at Alexander in English or other languages. You see a touch of class and nobility. My favourite is Alejandro in Spanish.

7. Enhance fame & fortune: A name must bring you fame and fortune, better in equal measure. See how Apple revolutionised information technology while iPhone geared mobile communication to new height.

8. Go global: You get easily noticed when you have a name with global appeal. William and Wilson though simple are heard across the globe.

9. Innovate: Wait a minute, innovating does not mean you go for funny name, but names chiselled in Gangnam style. J lo is a terse name used by Jennifer Lopez, American actress and singer. Notice how ingenious, evocative, original and Avant-garde name it is for this celebrity that has become part of her personal branding universally.

Depending on your personal cosmics, you have to change your name so that, it harnesses energy and fulfil most or all of the criteria listed above. It is time to tweak and re-configure your name so that you are able to garner positive cosmics. Performing cosmic analysis of your name is necessary for doing this.
