Seven Stages of Consciousness

Everyone has consciousness, a state of being that forms his belief, defines his attitude, fashions his thoughts and draws his actions. This state of consciousness is not static but dynamic in that one goes from one stage to the other in ascending or descending order depending on the mental and spiritual development one has achieved or lost as the case may be. In Arabic this state of consciousness is referred to as “Nafs”. There are seven such stages of state of consciousness or Nafs. For simplicity sake let us call this as simply as “Consciousness” as the phrase “State of Consciousness“ is too wordy. Let me explain you the cosmics of each of the seven stages of consciousness with an idea of improving your life.

1. Craving Stage: This stage of consciousness is known in Arabic as “Ammara”. In this state you continue to bring your internal and external dimensions towards the point of achieving your desires, goals and ambitions. Pride, prejudice Impulsion and desire shape your belief and attitude while your thoughts and action could be selfish, rash and of gung-ho nature. Like a pendulum you sway between good and evil. Your aura colour ranges from crimson to spot red. Crimson colour is generated when you are able to manage the basic survival mode popularised by Sigmund Freud as “Id” in a balanced manner; spot red colour is broadcast when you fail to manage the Id

2. Blaming Stage: This stage of consciousness is known in Arabic as “Lawwama”. In this stage your Ego comes into play. You are very conscious of your station of life, your importance and your role in the family, business and society at large. You question the validity of anything and try to relate to your own Ego. You observe and examine everything and everyone around you on subjective manner and take either positive or negative or neutral point of view. If you take positive point of view then you please others, educate them, engage in constructive criticism, focussed on making you and others happy. When you take negative point of view, you criticize others, blame them for the shortcomings of yours as well as theirs; bent on looking at others with contempt; always place you on high moral grounds something like “holier than thou” attitude. When you take neutral point of view you simply do not care what others doing and carry on regardless with what you have. Whatever the point of view is your aura colour is orange and orange it is

3. Inspirational Stage: This stage of consciousness is known in Arabic as “Mulhama”. In this stage your Superego takes the pride of place. While the first two stages were marked by conscious awareness, from this stage onwards you come under what we call as “cosmic awareness”. Your superego guides you to take a stand on what is right and what is wrong. Your central theme is perfection in whatever you do. You subject every person or any matter into objective analysis; you continue to strive for conformity with rules and ethics. You have the ability to handle self examination and evaluate others on even keel. You have sympathy in belief and attitude but always carry a can with you to censure others. To do all these you listen to your inner mind and the outer rims of your soul from where you get all these inspirations. Your auric colour is yellow

4. Tranquil Stage: This stage of consciousness is known in Arabic as “Muthmainna”. In this stage you are cruising on your cosmic awareness. Peace and kindness shape your belief and attitude which is reflected on your desire to be a “do good person”. Your vibrant personality brings many people close to you; you not only in peace with, you but strive to bring peace unto others. Everything looks green for you, brings the pleasant memory. You continue to re-live in hope and confidence bringing rejuvenation in its wake. This stage is where spiritual dawn is breaking out. Your aura colour is green where its ranges in shades including pale green, sea green and turquoise colour

5. Pleased State: This stage of consciousness is known in Arabic as “Raliyya”. In this stage you are cruising at fairly higher levels of cosmic awareness. Faith and hope are the defining aspects of your belief and attitude reflected equally well in your kind thoughts and benevolent actions. You have a great deal of good things such as devotion, friendship sincerity and constancy which you continue to imbibe on others. You are so broad minded that you like to see others progress as much as you have done. You auric colour ranges between sky- blue (Cyan) to spot blue colour

6. Pleasing Stage: This stage of consciousness is known in Arabic as “Marliyya”. In this stage you are soaring at higher levels of cosmic awareness. Your belief and attitude system is based on divine providence guiding you to make your living as useful to others on earth than looking after you. Philanthropy is your hallmark. You are simply wading between secularism and spiritualism. If you plug yourself into spiritualism you continue to soar higher and higher; if you start keeping your foot down on earthy items you will descend and fall like Icarus. Purple is your auric colour

7. Perfect Stage: This stage of consciousness is known in Arabic as “Safiyya”. In this stage you are soaring at very higher levels of cosmic awareness. You are a symbol of perfection, embodiment of the subtle, idol of all what is human. Your belief, attitude, thoughts and action all speak in one voice, the voice of God. To cap it all your aura colour is violet making you a person to be emulated by so many on this earth.

Whose Blessings You Need?

Every now and then you come across the word Blessings and you feign that you have lot of these if not only from the God but from several others whom you consider are important and capable of giving such blessings. Who can shower you blessings and whose behalf? This vexed question is answered in this blog post.

Blessings: Scriptures make blessings the prerogative of God and rightly so. All of us accept that it is the God who has created the universe and the beings within including every living organism. Having done that the God continues to shower his blessings. Undoubtedly, we need the blessings of the Lord for us to play our role as human beings on Earth.

Medium: Since the God does not personally appear to bless you, there has to be a medium found for this purpose. In Greek culture an Oracle was construed as a medium; in many Eastern cultures clairvoyance was resorted to receive the blessings of the Lord. In Hindu Culture, however, beings other than humans such as cobras were venerated in order to receive such blessings.

Message: All these media essentially started to give the blessings on behalf of the God , later as time passed by, developed into giving message of their own as well. Both types of blessings have come to be accepted. While the blessings of the Lord remains supreme, the blessings of those venerated do play a major role in human conduct.

Media Types: According to an old Tamil adage the level of authority in showering you blessings come in a typical scale: Mother, Father, Preceptor and Priest. Let me explain how each of them can pass the blessings of the Lord and their own upon you and in doing so help you in improving your life.

Mother: She is the first human being you come across when you are born; her milk of kindness is the first ever thing you taste as you emerge from her womb. In her you see an undaunted spirit as she goes through the motions of labour in bringing you out to this world. From this time onwards you are clung to your mother whether it is sunshine or rains. So much is said about her flowing kindness that even we call the world as “Mother Nature”. Her love to you cannot be ever priced. Like Mother Nature she lives a long life so much so that she is alive and kicking even you pass the age of 60. Throughout, she is at best a strong anchor and at worst a mild critic. She is the first person you should turn to get the blessings of the God; having done so ask her own blessings as well.

Father: Your love and affection towards your father goes in a see-saw pattern in your life. When you are up till 10 years old, your father remains your strength; he knows best, he is pretty smart. As you pass in age till 20 years you begin to see him as old fashioned and too old to remember how a teen would feel about. Thereafter till 30 years you are not much attached towards him, you feel he knows nothing and most often than not he acts in a clumsy manner. After 30 years you think maybe you speak to him, maybe he has plenty of experience, and maybe he has a winning style. By the time you reach 40 you regret you did not have many inter-actions with him, he is now in the heavens and you have to sort out all these without his presence. So whether your father is living or not it does not matter; seek the blessings of the God thru him and his own blessings too.

Preceptor: The word comes from Latin “Praeceptor” and relates to a teacher, guide or philosopher who is constantly at your side. Ranked third in the blessings hierarchy, a preceptor can never mar your life because he is wont in shaping life of his ward in perfect and alluring manner in keeping with the ideals of human nature and dictates of a civilized society. He can over-ride the negative aspects of your nature, marginalize negative cosmics within you and optimize your positive aspects to grow and glow. If you have done past wrongs to your mother or father or both he is in a position to advise you in correcting those misdeeds and guiding you towards loving them once again. Such is the power of the preceptor, that in Greek and Hindu mythology heroes go to their preceptors first before embarking on adventures, battles or acts of mundane nature. Hence, you should get the blessings of the God thru him and his own blessings very often. Remember a cardinal point: a woman cannot act as preceptor.

Priest: By training they are holy in nature; he is always with the God, serving the God or acts in manner that propagates the will of God. He is a safe person for you to confess all your peccadilloes as he is the best listening post you ever had. He is wise, learned in scriptures and in the art of persuasion of turning you towards achieving your goals and missions. He is circumspect and will preserve your secrecy. His plea to God is quickly answered. Therefore, go to the priest to get the blessings of the God thru him and seek thereafter his own blessings.

Mars- Sun Conjunction in December 2008 Presages Hanukkah with Peace

Mars-Sun Conjunction takes place almost at regular intervals, usually once in two years. Previous conjunctions in August 2002, September 2004 and October 2006 are of commonplace when compared with the conjunction scheduled to take place on December 5, 2008 at 22.00 GMT/UTC. It is phenomenal because the conjunction would be in the Ophiuchus constellation, which is a Non-Zodiacal constellation through which the Sun traverses in its ecliptical path. In fact the Sun enters this constellation on November 30 and leaves on December 18. It is indeed phenomenal because this event takes place in direct line between the stars “Imad” ( theta ophiuchi) and omega ophiuchi. Incidentally, Johannes Kepler, a 17th Century German Astronomer observed a supernova exploding in the area of sky close to the star theta ophiuchi in 1604. Let me give you a brief:
1. Astronomical Position
1. The event takes place on the parallel line between theta and omega ophiuchi at the left foot of the Ophiuchus at the location marked Right Ascension(RA) of 16.85 and Declination(Dec) of 22.65 South. As a result, the planet Mars would be in total eclipse
2. From this location if we look at the directions we find planet, stars and Globular Clusters in all eight directions:
North: The Star “Hun” known technically as zeta ophiuchi; a blue giant of 2,5 visual magnitude; third bright star in this constellation emitting blue to white colour; spectral class of O9 located on the left knee of the Ophiuchus
North-west : Omega, phi, chi and psi ophiuchi: four stars of benevolent nature forming almost a semi-circle located in RA ranging between 16.41 to 16.53. All stars more or less are of 4.5 visual magnitude with spectral class ranging from A to F
West : Rho Ophiuchi; a magnificent blue-white star giant giving a hue of bluish reflection in the nebulae surrounding it. A “Class B” luminous giant located at RA 16.42
South-west: M62 Globular Cluster; located at RA 17.01. Though visually of 6.5 magnitude it is 22,500 light years away and has large stock of stars , populated densely with variable and X-Ray emitting stars
South: M 19 Globular Cluster, located at RA17.05. Though visually of 6.8 magnitude, this cluster is some 28,400 light years away. Rich with stars and fairly densely populated with stars; the cluster is moving away from the earth at 90 miles per second
South-east: The planet Mercury located at RA 17.20
East : Xi ophiuchi a double star of 4.5 visual magnitude located at RA 17.35
North-East : Sabik known technically as eta ophiuchi; Al – Tizini the 15th Century Arab Astronomer called it as “Sabik” an unusual name meaning “ it precedes the other stars”. This star is located in the left leg of Ophiuchus. It is a binary and a variable star of A2 spectral class emitting white to yellow rays.
2. Mythology
This constellation is named after a famous Greek physician by the name of Asclepus who learned the art of reviving dead person by observing a live snake reviving a dead one. He started to cure humans from all diseases including the ones that bring death upon them. Fearing that he would make humans immortal in doing so, Zeus struck him with a bolt. However to honour his greatness Zeus placed Ophiuchus in the sky along with the serpent. Interestingly, the serpent was placed such that its head (Caput) onto his right and its tail (Cauda) onto his left and the middle coiled in between his thighs. He was called as Ophiuchus in Greek and Serpentarius in Latin both mean “ the serpent handler”. Universally, the Serpent became the symbol of medicine thereafter.
3. Cosmics
Whenever the Sun traverses through Ophiuchus constellation it gives a salutary, becalming effect on the terrestrial sphere. Here the Sun becomes a “healer” or “ sugar daddy”. The fact that Mars conjunction with Sun indicates that the fire and rage of Mars would be extinguished and in its place you find serenity and peace. This event taking place on December 5 2008 is followed by three important celebrations for the three religions: Islam, Christianity and Judaism.
· For Muslims it is the “Day of Arafath” scheduled to take place on Saturday December 7 in the Holy city of Mecca followed by the Festival throughout the world
· For Christians, it is Christmas celebrating the birth day of the Prince of Peace on December 25
· For the Jewish nation it is Hanukkah, the “Festival of Light” on December 22.
4. Hanukkah
Hanukkah begins on the 25th day of Kislev, which is the 9th month in the Jewish calendar. This year the 25th date falls on December 22. The celebration lasts for eight days. On the first day one candle is lit and on the second day one more is added making it two and so on till the eighth day when eight candles are lit. These candles are placed right to left in the Menorah. This event commemorates the cleansing of the Temple by Judas Maccabeus who struggled with Antiochus Epiphanes, the Greek overlord who desecrated the Temple by slaughtering pigs inside. Since there is nothing left inside the Temple that was clean except for little olive oil. The lamp was lit with this little oil. Miraculously, this little oil lasted for eight days. Since then it is customary to light candles for eight consecutive days.
But the Hanukkah, this year has much more significance:
· When the Mars-Sun conjunction takes place there are celestial bodies in all eight directions
· On the day this conjunction takes place the Moon is in its eighth day
· The number eight denotes the power of super natural to re-write the history of chaos that commenced on 2000 and ends in 2008, an eight year period.
5. Action and Re-action
The Action is for the world to send greetings to the Jewish nation which begins the festival of light on December 22. As each day passes with candles lit in ascending order the heaven and the eight stars that were located in the eight directions shall be illuminated and would bestow blessings of the Lord on the terrestrial beings.
The Re-action is also of eight-fold:
1. Changing of helmsmen in countries across the globe takes place
2. Un-doing of actions by despots, maniacs and ungodly men who brought the world to its knees in politics and economics
3. Establishing peace in theatres of war across the globe
4. Stabilizing the world economic system such that confidence in currencies and banks is restored
5. Investing in prosperity and growth such that the peace dividends percolate to varied segments of people across the globe
6. Liberalizing trade and movement of people so that the entire globe becomes a small village
7. Understanding different cultures across the globe so that bridges are built and boats are never burnt
8. Raising the sense of social responsibility of the people so that Charity is one again enthroned.
